Peas hold themselves differently than the rest of the rotation, low and bushy, a pale green that stands out against the durum and barley around them. We’ve come to know exactly how they sit in this ground: a strong break crop for disease cycles, a nitrogen boost for whatever follows, and a plant that rewards the same zero-till, mycorrhizal-fed system that carries everything else here. It’s a smaller acreage crop, but a known one now, well suited to the growing appetite for plant-based protein and identity-preserved pulses.
